Our vast range of aquatic leaves and leaf litter allows you to create unique and diverse biotope aquarium aquascapes. They are not only atheistically pleasing they can offer a range of benefits to the aquarium inhabitants with the release of tannic acids. Tannic acids are known to boost health, colour and induce spawning in many South American and Southeast Asian species. The leaves in an aquarium make a great alternative food source through biofilm development and are enjoyed by a variety of shrimp and aquarium fish.
Our forest floor litter packs are full of diverse colours and shapes with over 10 different species of leaves in every pack. Mixed among the leaves you may find botanicals such as acorns, magnolia stems and roots. Our packs allow you to truly create a natural-looking blackwater aquarium, bringing nature into the home.

These are the go-to leaves for all our blackwater species, these are perfect for breeders or for someone who wants to create a more natural feel to their blackwater biotope aquascapes. The leaves have naturally dried and fallen from the tree, curled up or crinkled in the process.
They do the exact same job as grade A leaves (Grading in Catappa Indian almond leaves is used to refer to the cosmetic appearance only) they just aren’t as refined in appearance, however, in our opinion they give a more natural appearance when used in aquascaping.
Catappa Indian almond leaves are renowned for their antibacterial properties helping keep common aquarium diseases at bay. They are also known to increase fish health, colour and create suitable spawning conditions for many South American and South-eastern fish species.

Longan leaves have not yet made their mark yet in the west but in parts of Asia, they are the cure-all for many fish ailments and the go-to cure for turtle keepers to treat gastrointestinal parasites. Fishkeepers that use Longan leaves claim they balance the PH of the aquarium, fight fungus kills parasites and help with the conditioning of exhausted fish.
We use them in our quarantine tanks and ponds, particularly with fish that have been travelling for days. Whether or not the benefits are true, we personally find fish recover far quicker and are less prone to disease caused by transport stress.
If you are looking for a leaf with similar properties to Indian almond leaves but without the heavy tannins or the lowering of the PH rapidly you found them.

Sweet osmanthus is found throughout Southeast Asia and the flower is commonly used in China to sweeten tea. Instead of deep brown tones, the osmanthus leaves are lighter, adding a new element of colour to leaf litter in a blackwater aquarium.
