Umbrella Bamboo leaves are ideal for blackwater aquarium designs. Bamboo leaves may appear crispy and delicate but as they become waterlogged they become fuller in shape. The Umbrella Bamboo leaf like the Papyrus and Catappa is enjoyed by many species of freshwater shrimp and bottom-dwelling fish as an alternative food source. As their tannin level is mild compared to other aquatic botanical leaves, they are ideal for aquarists who are going for a clear water biotope.
