Magnolia seed pods are the everlasting gobstopper of aquarium and vivarium botanicals. Their hard woody exterior keeps them from degrading as fast as other botanicals. They produce ample amounts of biofilm allowing natural foraging and grazing in freshwater shrimp and bottom-dwelling fish.

Magnolia seed pods are an excellent natural food source for axolotl tadpoles through biofilm development.
