Add a touch of the Amazon rainforest to your aquarium with Castle Dawn Aquatics Monkey Pots, naturally fallen seed pods from the Lecythis pisonis tree. These large, hollow pods are ideal for South American biotope aquariums and are a firm favourite among aquarists keeping Apistogramma, dwarf cichlids, and Plecos. Their thick, woody structure provides long-lasting hideaways and natural spawning caves while gradually releasing beneficial tannins that help create authentic blackwater conditions.

Monkey Pots are also highly valued in bioactive and amphibian enclosures, where they serve as natural water wells for Pacman toads, tree frogs, and dart frogs. With correct preparation, these durable botanicals can last for years in aquatic or humid environments.

Tannins Released: Medium

All our botanicals are organically sourced, free from harmful pesticides and naturally sun-dried without the use of chemicals.
